Railroad Extravaganza Event

Merchants on Water and Station Streets in downtown Hingham are gearing up for a Railroad Extravaganza, featuring special discounts, activities, and prizes on Saturday, November 10th, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
“With the Station Street parking lot improvements, and the excitement around the Greenbush line, we wanted to make a special effort to invite people back to this part of downtown,” says Yael Friedmann, owner of The Bodywork Center on Water Street and co-organizer of the event.
Yael, together with Emily Mondon, owner of the Hingham Gift Company next door, decided to organize the event after talking to several business owners who thought it would be nice to highlight the area.
“Fall is here, and we’re all gearing up for the holiday season… the Water/Station Street area has a lot to offer in terms of convenient and varied services and holiday gifts,” says Emily.
Participating merchants are offering some great deals and fun activities. For example, everyone should bring that growing pile of dry cleaning to Dry Cleaning by Dorothy’s to take advantage of 25% off their order. All brides who visit Country Weddings will be able to enter a drawing for $500 off a bridal gown (see store for details), and anyone interested in area real estate can consult with Sotheby’s International. Visitors can get a head-start on the holidays by gift shopping at the Hingham Gift Company and checking out their holiday bow-making demonstrations. Food and relaxation will also be an important part of the event. The Bodywork Center will offer free chair massage, and visitors can grab a snack (and make new gourmet discoveries) at the Fruit Center. For lunch, Stars will offer “The Water Street Special", a discounted seasonal sandwich special with Roast Turkey, cornbread stuffing and cranberry mayo on toasted FireKing Raisin Pecan bread with a side of Sweet potato fries & gravy for $4.99.
